PQ CORPORATION,  with headquarters in Valley Forge  close to Philadelphia in USA,

PQ traces its beginnings to a family soap and candle business started in Philadelphia by Joseph Elkinton in 1831. The company began producing and selling “silicate of soda” or sodium silicate in 1861 to replace rosin in soap formulations.

Today, PQ is the world’s largest producer of soluble silicates, technology, inorganic Chemicals and catalyst.

PQ Corporation Works in more than 64 plants in 20 countries and 5 continents, with around  1900 employees.

Current owners of the former plant PQ Europe in the Netherlands, producer of inorganic Chemicals taken from sand, combining silicate chemistry and state of the art plants.
